About Cassie

When our daughter Cassie was diagnosed with a seizure disorder, cerebral palsy and severe mental disability stemming from an ear infection in infancy, we knew that we suddenly had lost all common thread with our family and our friends children. We found ourselves in a world of questions with few answers and we were angry and scared. Luckily, the developmental pediatrician we were seeing had just been involved in starting this amazing group - Family Connection! He led us to the support and friendships that we have had now for 20 years. Our son benefitted from Kid Connection and sharing his experiences with other siblings, we have participated in support parent, PEAP and Couples' Communication. It's a testament to the wonderful things we have found at Family Connection that our family is strong and continues to develop and learn from Cassie. She is an amazing young woman now, still full of challenges, but also filled with love that she spreads to all.
